Omega-3 fatty acids vs. Ritalin

Omega-3 Oil - Nature's "Ritalin"

Omega-3 fatty acids vs. Ritalin - which can help you cope more effectively with ADHD and Bipolar Disorder diagnosis?

Fish Oil Benefits Are Backed by Clinical Research

Fatty acids are found to be highly effective in stabilizing Bipolar Disorder manic and depressive episodes caused by nutritional deficiencies. Oh, of course the scientific facts "don't always support the claims," but I use it and it works for me. And that is good enough scientific facts for me.

The good news is, the scientific studies are catching up. You may want to look at the following recent clinical studies that conclude fish oil, in fact, is beneficial for uni and bipolar depression. In other words fish oil is good for your mind, body and spirit.

  1. China Medical Hospital, Taiwan -Omega-3 fatty acids in major depressive disorder. A preliminary double-blind, placebo-controlled trial determinedpatients with depression have been extensively reported to be associated with the abnormality of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), including significantly low eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid in cell tissue contents (red blood cell membrane, plasma, etc.) and dietary intake.

  3. Epidemiological and clinical studies suggest that increased intake of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) alleviates unipolar depression and is effective and well-tolerated intervention in bipolar depression.

The AMA prescribes Ritalin far more frequently than necessary particularly because the same can be obtained with omega 3 fatty acids with no side effects.

Dr. Donald Rudin, M.D. and Clara Felix authors of Omega-Oils: A Practical Guide Avery (1996) claim mood disorders including ADHD and bipolar disorder are part of a modernization-disease syndrome, which arises form malnutrition centered on an omega - fatty acid deficiency. Their contention is supported by growing scientific evidence.

The connection between omega-3 fatty acid deficiency and ADHD has been confirmed by studies in which youngsters with ADHD, when compared with non-ADHD children, had much lower blood levels of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), an omega- 3 fatty acid necessary for normal function of the eyes and the cerebral cortex (the brain region that handles higher functions such as reasoning and memory).

"We shouldn't be prescribing medicine simply because that's the easiest way to go," notes Dr. Mark Stein, who runs the University of Chicago clinic for children and adults with this disorder.

While all children with ADHD are not-deficient in omega-3 fatty acids, I believe that the addition of omega-3 fatty acids to the diet may be important for some ADHD children. After reading Dr. Johanna Budwig's book, Flax Oil as a True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer and Other Diseases I too, have come to understand the need for the omega-3 fatty acids in the diet. (MINE for sure!)

The American diet today consists of plenty of omega-6 fatty acids found mostly in meats and vegetable oils, yet suffer a deficiency in the omega-3 oils resulting in higher risks for heart disease and about 60 other diseases including cancer, arthritis, stroke, high blood pressure, skin diseases, and diabetes. All this is beautifully explained in Dr. Budwig's book mentioned above.

Why I love Omega 3 Oils

I was faced with a "suspicious lump" in my breast in October 2006. Frankly, it scared me nearly to death. My husband, having lost his first wife to breast cancer via the AMA route, was very pro natural products, so I researched on line for alternatives to the removal of my breast tissue.

Fortunately, I ran across Dr. Budwig's marvelous work. Be sure to read it. It'll knock your socks off by its simplicity yet academically and scientific information.

She states clearly, particularly important to good health is the longer chained omega-3 fatty acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexanoic acid (DHA) found in cold water fish: salmon, mackerel, herring and halibut.

After a cleansing program (that's a different story) I started to add these natural foods to my diet eating fish nearly every day for 3 months. She makes it clear the omega 3 fish oils: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexanoic acid (DHA) is best obtained by eating cold water fish!!!

However, there is another omega-3 oil called alpha-linolenic acid, a short chained omega - 3 fatty acid, found in flaxseed oil. According to Dr. Budwig, "fish oils" (commercially packed) which have been rendered oxygen - inert by means of solidification and which have had their electron fields destroyed are no longer able to generate a field of electrons, a veritable electrical charge which can be quickly conducted off into the body, thus causing a recharging of the living substance -especially of the brain and nerves."

In other words due to unsaturated fats having been chemically treated so that their unsaturated qualities are destroyed, the field of electrons are removed, thus their ability to associate with protein and thereby to easily achieve water solubility in the fluids of the living body. (The electrical charge is dead thus rather than bringing oxygen to the body and brain, can't circulate and flow into the capillaries.)

Fish oil is excellent if is not rendered oxygen inert by means of solidification and which have had their electron fields destroyed.

Other brands may not, thus may cause you more troubles than benefit. For example, "with regard to the preservation of structure in the living body, the dipolarity of the electrical field between fat and protein is of fundamental importance.

If this dipolarity between highly unsaturated fats and the sulphur-containing protein substance is destroyed, for example due to fats having been solidified before being ingested, that means their electrical charge is removed so that the counter - polarity is missing for the maintenance of a voltage field.

In short, the battery is dead. It is exactly the same with a car battery. When one pole is removed, the current no longer flows."1

Getting back to the flax seed oil which is high in the omega-3 oil, alpha-linolenic acid. Flax seed oil in a easily digestible form accompanied by cottage cheese revises the stagnated conditions of a diseased body which indicate "a dead battery," are cured in a short time. We need optimal (good) fats to recharge our physical and mental batteries, so to speak.

Harmful fats are found in cakes, pastries, biscuits, sausages and luncheon meats. These fats destroy the mind, body, and spirit. These upsetting fats do indeed cause upset in our minds, bodies, and behaviors.

Our children are experiencing ADHD, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders, often because they are being fed respiratory poisons in the form of preserving agents included in the packaged foods mentioned above.

Eliminating these poisons is the first step in your journey toward wellness. Second step, replace these bad fats with the good fats: omega-3 oils.

In America today, we are always in a rush and don't often have the time to include these oils in their purest natural form, so now they can be found in capsule form.

I get my rich omega-3 oils found in Nikken products is from Marine fish oil, high Lignan Flax Seed oil and Borage seed oil.

Are you? Why not?

I've used other quality fish oil products before, but now I use only Nikken Products cause I know they even work better for me.

Which do you choose for your child, for yourself? Drugs, that lead to criminal juvenile delinquency or Nature's "Ritalin" (the omega-3 fatty acids available in fish or flax seed oil or in capsule form from Nikken Wellness Products) that feeds and focuses your mind, body and spirit?

Nikken makes the finest fish oil capsules available in their men or women's nutritional paks.

All three of them, two found in the fish oils, and the other in the flaxseed oil are found in the Nikken nutrtional paks.

"May you be in health even as your soul prospereth," 3 John 2.
